Who We are.
IIAM – Helping Mississippi Insurance Agents since 1898

Our Mission is You.
The mission of the Independent Insurance Agents of Mississippi, working in the public’s best interest, is to be the unrelenting advocate for independent insurance agents and to provide our members with a sustainable competitive advantage.
About Us.
IIAM is a statewide network of independent insurance agencies and professionals. Our members have access to products, services, education, and networking opportunities created specifically for independent agents—by independent agents and our trusted industry partners.
Founded in 1898, IIAM is one of the state’s oldest and largest professional associations dedicated to advancing professionalism and serving the public interest. Organized in Vicksburg by a small group of forward-thinking agents, IIAM was established years before Mississippi created a State Department of Insurance and shortly after the formation of the national association.
Over time, the organization evolved alongside the growing complexity of the insurance industry—expanding its role, strengthening advocacy efforts, and establishing a permanent state office in 1939. Today, IIAM is nationally recognized for its leadership in government affairs, education, communications, and member service, representing more than 260 independent insurance agencies across Mississippi.
In addition to IIAM, there are regional associations across the state that provide local networking, education, and engagement opportunities for independent insurance professionals. While these associations operate independently, we are proud to support and highlight their leadership and contact information below.
